The West Side Forgets Where the State’s First Economy Was Created

Just outside Walla Walla on State Highway 12 is Dayton. Dayton is the county seat to the Columbia County –  Courthouse, Train Station and of course City Hall-Fire Station. The aforementioned Train Station and Courthouse are two of the oldest in the state. The Train station for many years was the oldest operation station in the state of Washington.

The world has forgotten Dayton but it is a lovely place to walk and imagine an older time with no social media.
